Grumpy’s Restaurant’s Daniel DeLeon Named One of NRN’s Most Influential Restaurant CEOs
Restaurant owner earns the distinction of one of 2021’s most influential restaurant CEOs
April 07, 2021 // Franchising.com // JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Jacksonville’s No. 1 restaurant, Grumpy’s Restauranrt’s President and CEO, Daniel DeLeon, continues to add to his and the company’s soaring reputation. He has been recognized most recently by Nation’s Restaurant News’ 2021 “Power List Reader Picks,” a recognition that honors DeLeon as one of the most influential restaurant CEOs in the country. With NRN only identifying a select few CEOs from the record number of submissions it received this year, over 500 in total, DeLeon joins exclusive company thanks to his outstanding leadership in 2020.
Earlier this year, DeLeon has also been recognized as one of FSR’s 29 Rising Restaurant Stars of 2021. This accolade is wildly impressive, as there are two open restaurants, another opening in July, two more in development for 2021 and current plans to grow the brand even further. It’s evident that under the leadership of DeLeon, Grumpy’s is no stranger to earning awards for its delicious food and work environment. The NRN and FSR awards continue to prove the brand’s overall exceptional standards when it comes to making an impact in the industry and the Jacksonville community.
Grumpy’s Restaurant was born out of passion and love for brining family and friends together over great diner food and DeLeon takes that to heart. He has extensive history in franchising and the restaurant space, previously owning and operating multiple restaurant franchise locations and he also grew six local businesses from the ground up. DeLeon has taken his lessons he’s learned from the very beginning of his career and used it to amplify his strategies in creating a better franchise brand.
DeLeon was able to become the “Restaurant Rescuer” of Grumpy’s, a nickname dubbed by his FSR award. In 2017, he purchased and completely revitalized the brand, making it a successful, award-winning franchise in 2019.
“I am humbled to receive this honorable award, there has been a lot of hard work to get the brand where it is today,” said DeLeon. “Where the state of the world was a year ago, it took perseverance from not only myself, but my entire team and staff at Grumpy’s, and for that, I credit them for their contribution to all of our successes.”
DeLeon is hoping to connect with new franchise partners who can carry out Grumpy’s’ mission to support others and create a welcoming, family-focused community. He is looking to expand the diner to areas all over Florida and the Southeast.
Grumpy’s menu items are fresh, made to order and always made from scratch. The brand offers an array of daily and weekly chalk board specials, specialty waffle, sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, signature coffee, fresh squeezed juices, homemade hot chocolate and desserts.
